About The Author

Hi! I’m Said Bouziane and you’re reading this because you want to read about me.

What do I say?

I’d rather talk about you…

I’m a listener, it’s what I’ve done since I was a kid. I couldn’t rescue my loved ones from the pain they were in so I grew this crippling desire to help people. It was a big pain in the butt until I learned how to respect and nourish it.

I since learned about loads of stuff, boundaries, empathy, heaps of things. Most of what I know I learned from getting on the job as a suicide prevention volunteer working for a big helpline.

I’ve since made a career in suicide prevention and I’d really like to open the doors a little wider so more people can benefit from high quality mental health knowledge and experience.

Suicide is important to me because I’ve almost lost a few loved ones and I came really close myself (read more here).

We know so much about preventing suicide now, trauma informed care has changed the way we think and work, but the change is slow. For those like me, who feel impatient to wait behind the slowly turning wheels of bureaucracy, I hope this website gives you some food for thought and tools to help create the change we all know is possible.

More than anything I want to write for the cause. I believe in the power of the written word and really want to contribute.

I’d love to spread the word about suicide prevention, get published in other places around the internet, hop on podcasts and the whole thing.
