I Have A Big Dream But Don’t Let That Get You Down

I want to help 1,000,000 people learn suicide support.

Kinda scary, kinda stupid.

I want to spread life saving skills to heaps of people. Imagine the impact! Imagine a million people who can make their family, friends, colleagues and clients feel truly heard and seen.

It’s big, hairy and audacious… But so am I!

I didn’t start this way.

Don’t make the mistake of looking at my current why and comparing your own purpose.

12 months ago, I just wanted to get my feelings and thoughts out there. I was happy shouting into the void to the sound of crickets. My why was just to capture my thoughts and make sense of them. 12 months before that my why was to work in mental health so I could quit moonlighting as strip club security.

Purpose isn’t static, it grows and develops as you do.

Helping people lights me up, what lights you up?

Start with what you enjoy – just don’t compare your ‘behind the scenes’ to someone’s highlight reel.

I wanted to help, so I volunteered. I wanted to write, so I started a blog. I stopped and started many times. Not even to mention the (overflowing) graveyard of dreams – albums, graphic novels, tv shows. I had to quit on many dreams to find this one! If you’re struggling to find your why, I hope I can reassure you.

Today’s bumpy path becomes tomorrow’s clarity of purpose.

Thanks for reading! What’s your why? 👀👇🏽
